Location: Salisbury
Salary: £25,185 – £25,989 (Pro Rata)
15 hours per week (0.4 FTE), 2 days a week

Salisbury City Council has a new opportunity to join our friendly team. Assist with the cleansing of highways, footpaths, parks and open spaces, ensuring DEFRA Grade A standards are achieved.
Responsibilities
* Removal of litter
* Servicing street litter bins
* Street sweeping
* Removing weeds, graffiti, fly‑tipping and fly‑posting
* Gathering evidence required for prosecutions
* Driving a Council Streetscene vehicle
* Steam cleaning
Qualities and Experience
* Experience working independently and as part of a team
* Experience working outdoors in all conditions and willingness to complete a number of cleansing tasks as directed
* Capable of working effectively without supervision
* Able to complete daily and weekly task sheets, where appropriate
* Capable of diverting working schedules as directed in response to emerging issues (e.g., spillages, accidents, etc.)
* Build effective working relationships with colleagues
* Physically able to operate a variety of cleansing machinery and undertake manual cleansing and weeding
* Able to handle bagged and bulky waste and transfer to relevant collection areas
* Able to comply with H&S requirements and responsibilities of post
* Flexible, punctual and reliable
* Have an awareness and identify occurring situations
* Friendly, approachable and able to communicate with members of the public
* Attention to detail
* Enthusiastic and self‑motivating
* Full driving licence: Essential
