Head of Production – Electrical Engineering / Power Sector

A leading UK electrical engineering manufacturer is seeking a Head of Production to lead its busy manufacturing facility. This senior role will oversee transformer production, ensuring efficiency, quality, safety, and cost targets are consistently met.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead and develop the production team, including supervisors and operatives.
* Drive operational performance, meeting daily, monthly, and annual KPIs.
* Plan workloads and coordinate manufacturing for large projects.
* Promote continuous improvement and a “right first time” culture.
* Ensure compliance with Health & Safety standards and quality management systems.
* Mentor, train, and develop the team, including apprenticeships.
Skills & Experience:
* Hands-on experience in mechanical/electrical engineering manufacturing.
* Strong leadership and people management skills.
* Apprentice trained or qualified in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering.
* Experience in lean manufacturing principles.
* IOSH certified; strong understanding of workplace safety.
* Ability to interpret mechanical and electrical drawings.
* Full UK driving licence.
