About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Assessor to support the assessment of T-Level and Level 2 Early Years and Education learners. You will work closely with tutors, employers, and placement providers to ensure students gain the skills and knowledge required for success in the sector and meet the assessment requirements of their programmes.
About the Organisation:
The College operates across three main campuses in Stevenage and Hitchin, employing over 650 staff. With a turnover of £30m, the college provides learning opportunities to over 10,000 students each year from study programmes for 16-18 year olds and apprenticeships through to adult provision locally, regionally and nationally. We were judged Good by Ofsted at our last inspection in December 2023, with outstanding features.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Main Roles and Responsibilities
3. Conduct workplace observations and professional discussions in line with qualification standards and awarding body requirements.
4. Support learners in collecting evidence and building portfolios (where applicable), ensuring authenticity and sufficiency.
5. Provide clear, constructive feedback to learners to help them progress and develop professionally.
6. Liaise with placement settings, awarding organisations and learners to ensure a high-quality experience and assess suitability for continued placement.
7. Complete and maintain accurate records of learner progress, assessment decisions, and related documentation.
8. Attend standardisation meetings and CPD activities to ensure consistency and compliance with internal and external quality assurance processes.
9. Work in collaboration with curriculum staff to ensure seamless integration between classroom learning and work placement development.
General duties
10. To contribute to the effective management and promotion of equality and diversity
11. To work in accordance with the Health & Safety at Work Act, ensuring the College is a safe environment for staff, students and visitors.
12. To promote with staff and students the importance of safeguarding the welfare of children and vulnerable adults they are responsible for and come into contact with.
