We are looking for a dedicated SEMH & Nurture Group Support Assistant to join a school in Bexhill, providing essential support for pupils with social, emotional, and mental health needs.

About the Role
As a SEMH & Nurture Group Support Assistant, you will help pupils develop confidence, emotional resilience, and positive learning behaviours. You will work closely with teaching staff and the SEN team to deliver structured support, contribute to personalised interventions, and monitor pupil progress, ensuring that each child can access the curriculum and thrive socially and academically.
Responsibilities
* Support pupils with SEMH needs in one-to-one or small group settings
* Deliver activities and interventions designed to improve social, emotional, and academic outcomes
* Assist with classroom management and promote positive behaviour
* Provide personal care support where required
* Record pupil progress and contribute to reports and feedback for teaching staff
* Collaborate with teachers, SENCO, and support staff to implement individual learning plans
Qualifications & Skills
* Experience supporting pupils with SEMH or other SEN needs
* Knowledge of strategies to support emotional wellbeing and behaviour management
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills
* Ability to adapt activities to meet individual pupil needs
* Patience, empathy, and a professional approach to working with children
