An experienced Network Engineer is required for a 6-month contract role based full-time onsite in Barrow-in-Furness.This opportunity is suited to a hands-on engineer with strong enterprise networking experience and active MOD SC Clearance.Key Details Rate: £525 per day (Inside IR35)Contract Length: 6 monthsLocation: Barrow-in-Furness, Cumbria (full onsite, 5 days per week)Expenses: Payable in line with project policyEssential Requirements Active MOD SC ClearanceSole UK NationalThe Role The successful candidate will work onsite alongside project managers, architects and technical SMEs to support the delivery of complex network infrastructure projects.The role will involve close collaboration with operational support teams to ensure smooth transition and integration into live services.Responsibilities Installation and configuration of network equipment for complex or business-critical environmentsInfrastructure surveys across wired and wireless networksOffice moves, adds and changesNetwork hardware and cabling refresh activitiesConfiguration of switches, routers, firewalls, load balancers and voice systemsImpact assessments across large-scale network environmentsTesting against predefined plans and analysis of resultsSupport for LAN, WAN and voice infrastructure environmentsRequired Skills & Experience Minimum 5 years experience in Network Engineering rolesStrong hands-on experience with: SwitchingRoutingFirewall configurationLoad balancingVoice technologiesCisco CCNA certified or equivalentStrong understanding of: Network securityVPN technologiesConverged networksBroadband technologiesExperience installing, configuring and troubleshooting enterprise LAN/WAN/Voice infrastructureUnderstanding of racking, cabling and containment standardsAbility to operate effectively in fast-paced project environmentsDesirable Subject Matter Expert capability in one or more networking disciplinesExperience working within highly secure or defence-related environmentsTPBN1_UKTJ
