Overview
Are you an experienced Nursery Practitioner who holds a recognised Level 3 or equivalent Childcare/Early Years qualification and has experience providing support to children with additional needs? Aspire People are currently recruiting for an Early Years Practitioner with experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs in a nursery in Dudley. The role is to work in the SEN hub, which holds up to 12 children with various additional needs including severe and profound complex learning difficulties. The role is 5 days per week, 8:30–15:30, term time only.
Responsibilities
* Work in the SEN hub supporting children with additional needs, including those with severe and profound learning difficulties.
* Contribute to creating a nurturing and inclusive learning environment aligned with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).
* Support room organisation, implement learning strategies, and facilitate a free-flow environment as part of a team and in partnership with parents.
* Demonstrate conscientious, well-presented, and personable approaches with good communication skills with children and colleagues.
* Provide effective support within a collaborative school setting to ensure each child has the right learning environment.
Qualifications & Requirements
* Recognised Level 3 qualification or equivalent in Childcare/Early Years (to meet EYFS staff-to-child ratios).
* Previous experience of working with children aged between 0–5 years old.
* Excellent knowledge of development of children aged 0–5 years old.
* Previous experience of providing support to children with additional needs.
* Good insight into the needs of young children.
* Good understanding of the EYFS Curriculum.
* Good knowledge of safeguarding and welfare; good awareness of Health and Safety.
* Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
* Knowledge of play-based approaches in children's learning.
