Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Head Chef to lead our culinary team. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership qualities, extensive culinary expertise, and a passion for delivering exceptional dining experiences. As Head Chef, you will oversee all aspects of kitchen operations, ensuring the highest standards of food quality, safety, and presentation are maintained at all times. This role offers an exciting opportunity to shape the culinary direction of our establishment and inspire a talented team of kitchen staff.

Responsibilities

* Lead and supervise the kitchen team, fostering a positive and productive working environment.
* Oversee food preparation and cooking processes to ensure consistency, quality, and presentation standards are met.
* Manage food production schedules, optimise utilisation of ingredients, and minimise waste.
* Develop innovative menus in collaboration with management, catering to diverse customer preferences.
* Ensure strict adherence to food safety regulations and hygiene standards across all kitchen operations.
* Monitor stock levels, place orders, and manage inventory efficiently.
* Train and mentor junior staff members to develop their skills and ensure compliance with company policies.
* Collaborate with front-of-house teams to ensure seamless service delivery.
* Maintain a clean, organised, and safe kitchen environment at all times.

Requirements

* Proven supervising experience within a busy restaurant or hospitality setting.
* Extensive culinary experience with a strong background in food production and food safety practices.
* Demonstrable leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a diverse team effectively.
* Proficiency in food preparation, cooking techniques, and menu development.
* Previous experience working in a restaurant or hospitality environment is essential.
* Excellent organisational skills with the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
* Strong knowledge of health & safety regulations relevant to professional kitchens.
* Exceptional communication skills with the ability to lead by example and foster teamwork.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: From £14.50 per hour

Expected hours: 35 – 45 per week
