What you'll be doing
The assistant financial accountant will:
* Assist with reporting to UK stakeholders and the overseas parent company
* Assist with account reconciliations, such as trade receivables
* Assist with preparing sundry invoices
* Assist with VAT return preparations
* Assist with statutory accounts and tax calculations
* Assist with Company Secretarial activities
This list is not exhaustive; additional duties may be assigned as needed.
Who we are looking for
The ideal candidate will have some accounting knowledge, such as from studies like an accounting degree or AAT Level 3 qualification.
They will also be:
* Detail-oriented (essential)
* Strong in written and verbal communication
* Positive, eager to learn and understand
* Self-motivated with ownership of workload and flexibility to meet deadlines
* Proactive in identifying improvement areas
* Capable of working independently and in teams
* Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
* Experience with SAP or similar complex accounting systems is advantageous but not required

This role is based at our Didcot office, with a blend of in-office (3 days) and homeworking (2 days) per week.
