Role Overview
To support the Senior Engineer in designing and delivering a range of highway and transportation schemes.
Key Responsibilities
* Assist in the full project lifecycle: early scoping, option‑eering, detailed design, procurement, and on‑site construction management.
* Produce quality technical drawings and documentation in compliance with local authority standards and guidelines.
* Carry out site visits and liaise with stakeholders, including surveyors, planners and contractors.
* Apply health and safety practices and promote a safe working environment.
* Utilise relevant design software and analytical tools to support project delivery.
About You – Qualifications and Skills
* Enthusiastic to learn and develop technical skills in highways and transportation.
* Self‑motivated and able to undertake own learning and complete a range of tasks.
* Keen to carry out site visits and liaise with various stakeholders.
* Attention to detail in producing quality drawings and adhering to design standards.
* Strong problem‑solving and logical planning skills.
* IT proficiency in relevant software packages.
* Data analytical skills.
* Understanding of a Local Authority is beneficial; local knowledge of Kingston and Sutton highway network is advantageous.
