The Role
The Prescribing Paramedic Practitioner will take on a varied and rewarding role, working both autonomously and as part of the wider clinical team. The successful candidate will assess, diagnose, treat, and manage patients presenting with a wide range of acute, minor, and chronic conditions. Independent prescribing is central to the role, enabling timely interventions and continuity of care for patients.
Key Responsibilities
 * Provide high-quality clinical assessments for patients with undifferentiated or undiagnosed conditions
 * Undertake same-day and routine clinics, managing minor illness, urgent care, and chronic disease reviews where appropriate
 * Prescribe medications safely and effectively within the scope of practice
 * Perform home visits and contribute to the on-the-day demand management system
 * Collaborate closely with GPs, nurses, pharmacists, and allied health professionals
 * Engage in clinical governance, quality improvement, and audit activities
 * Support patient education and health promotion within the community
Requirements
 * Registered Paramedic with the HCPC
 * Independent Prescriber (V300 qualification essential)
 * Experience within primary care, urgent care, or community settings
 * Strong clinical decision-making and triage skills
 * A proactive, adaptable, and patient‑focused approach
 * Excellent communication and team collaboration skills
