Overview
This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic team who are developing new ways of working, efficiencies and digital solutions to Pharmacy procurement and distribution.
The role will give you the opportunity to work across all areas of pharmacy procurement and distribution including:
* Procurement, ward distribution, pharmacy stores, prep services and homecare and high cost drugs.
Responsibilities
* Lead, implement projects and demonstrate effective time management within the Pharmacy medicines procurement and distribution teams in partnership with the Principal Pharmacist, Chief Technician and Senior Technicians to provide a high-quality service.
* Rotate between specialist areas of pharmacy procurement and distribution including pharmacy stores, ward distribution, procurement and homecare/high cost drugs.
* Provide support to prep services where appropriate.
* Coordinate the workload and supervise day-to-day activities.
* Assist in the development and implementation of standard operating procedures ensuring they are fit for purpose and up to date.
* Support and supervise the training of staff working within the pharmacy procurement and distribution team.
* Train, monitor and develop the role of an Assistant Technical Officer and identify training needs within the pharmacy procurement and distribution teams.
* Support the capturing and reporting of relevant KPI’s across all pharmacy procurement and distribution activities.
* Proactively support service development and quality improvement projects within the pharmacy procurement and distribution team and the wider pharmacy team.
* Undertake regular dispensary-based core duties such as dispensing and accuracy checking in line with the agreed rota and needs of the service.
* Work in accordance with Trust policies and pharmacy local procedures.
