Join to apply for the Consultant Forensic Psychiatrist role at West London NHS Trust. Applications are invited from candidates with experience of Forensic Psychiatry or General Adult Psychiatry for a Consultant Forensic Psychiatrist post in the Specialist Community Forensic Team (SCFT), Ealing, Hammersmith & Hounslow (EHH) hub, West London Forensic Service. Applicants must be registered with a licence to practice with the GMC. Inclusion on the Specialist Register or within six months of interview is a requirement. All applicants should have Section 12 Approval and Approved Clinician status or be able to apply. Applicants need to inform us in advance if they are under any formal investigation processes by any organisations including the General Medical Council (GMC).

This is a replacement post. The Specialist Community Forensic Team (SCFT) model covers eight North West London boroughs in three hubs (Brent, Harrow & Hillingdon; Ealing, Hammersmith & Hounslow; Kensington, Chelsea & Westminster). There are opportunities to be part of service development within an established and expanding team.
In this role you will work within a dynamic and progressive team. You will manage a small but complex caseload of approximately 30 outpatients supported by a well-resourced multidisciplinary team, including social care and administrative support. You will provide in-reach to secure wards and follow up to 30 in-patients prior to discharge, but you will not be the Responsible Clinician (RC) for these patients. You will offer clinical leadership to the team and act as Responsible Clinician / Clinical Supervisor for service users in your caseload, who will also have an assigned social supervisor and a Community Psychiatric Nurse (CPN).
You will also offer community forensic expertise, advise and support to secure ward teams and service users preparing for discharge.

Responsibilities
* Provide clinical leadership within SCFT and act as RC/Clinical Supervisor for the service users in your caseload.
* Manage a mixed caseload of outpatients and in-patients with a focus on safe discharge planning.
* Provide in-reach to secure wards and contribute to discharge planning for in-patients.
* Offer community forensic expertise and support to secure ward teams and service users preparing for discharge.
Qualifications and Requirements
* GMC registration with a licence to practice.
* Inclusion on the Specialist Register or eligibility within six months of interview.
* Section 12 Approval and Approved Clinician status or the ability to apply.
* Ability to inform in advance if under formal investigation by any organisation including the GMC.
