Job Description
We are currently seeking a Operations Controller to join our Transport team at our Minworth site. As a Operations Controller you will contribute to the success of the site by supporting the day-to-day running of the warehouse, ensuring that all schedules for inbound receipts and outbound loads are run efficiently, liaising with warehouse operatives, Shift Supervisors and Shift Managers to maintain a smooth flow of work throughout the shift.
Job responsibilities of a Operations Controller include:
1. Efficiently managing the outbound schedule to ensure collection and delivery times are met.
2. Issuing instructions to designated staff to maintain a smooth flow of inbound and outbound work.
3. Controlling paperwork for outbound vehicles ensuring 100% accuracy.
4. Communicating issues to Shift Manager in a timely manner to minimise disruption to the schedule.
5. Being the initial point of contact for all drivers arriving on site.
6. Participating as an active member of the operations team, and to offer suggestions for solving problems, improving efficiency, customer and quality focus.
7. Producing a thorough, detailed handover to the following shift highlighting potential issues, reminders and current state of play.
8. Releasing work to the system for the warehouse to pick. Following all warehouse special pick
9. Managing Marshal lanes for orders.
10. Prioritising work on the system.
Qualifications
As a Operations Controller you will possess the following skill, experiences and qualifications:
11. Ability to prioritise work based on scheduling and available resources.
12. Able to demonstrate a high level of attention to detail.
13. Must be a team player who is capable of working on their own initiative.
14. Able to demonstrate an in depth knowledge of on-site systems.
15. Experience and good working knowledge of Empirica and RF kit (training will be given).
16. PC Literate in Word, Excel and Outlook.
17. Should demonstrate the drive and desire to progress.
18. Must be flexible in approach to work and shift patterns in order to cover for absence.
19. Excellent time management skills and ability to solve problems.
20. Should have good oral and written communication skills.
