Job Description
In this role, you'll take the lead on day‑to‑day Hard FM operations while managing all Variations, Projects and Life Cycle works across the estate. You will ensure safe, compliant and efficient service delivery, support financial planning for lifecycle works, and build lasting relationships with internal teams, Trust partners and external stakeholders. This is a hands‑on, people‑centred role ideal for someone who combines technical capability with strong leadership skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure full compliance with legislation, HTM/HBN guidance, CDM regulations and internal HSEQ policies.
- Manage risk assessments, permit-to-work systems, and Safe Systems of Work.
- Supervise multi-skilled engineers and oversee PPM and reactive maintenance.
- Manage contractor activity, CAFM records, KPIs, SLAs and technical documentation.
- Deliver Variation and additional works from quotation to completion.
- Coordinate design teams, contractors, RAMS reviews and asset updates.
- Produce reports, manage lifecycle budgets and participate in condition surveys.
- Manage budgets, forecasts, procurement and value-for-money processes.
- Oversee invoicing and report potential financial risks.
- Provide clear guidance, solutions and recovery plans when needed.
Professional and Personal Competencies/Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years’ technical services experience in a mechanical or electrical environment.
- Recognised M&E qualification (e.g., C&G Level 3, NVQ or equivalent).
- Knowledge of M&E systems, CAFM, PTW processes and contractor management.
- Excellent problem-solving, organisation and communication skills.
- Previous Authorised Person (AP) status.
- IOSH/NEBOSH qualifications.
- Experience in PFI/PPP lifecycle management.
- CDM knowledge, AutoCAD skills, or BS7671 if electrically trained.
- Professional memberships (e.g., CIBSE, MCIOB).
