Job Description:
Our Team: Welcome to the Audi F1 Project.
Audi will be competing in the FIA Formula 1 World Championship from 2026.
The new team has three locations: the Motorsport Competence Center of Audi in Neuburg (Germany), known for its modern facilities; the Sauber Group's Formula 1 factory in Hinwil (Switzerland), recognized for innovative racing technologies; and the Sauber Motorsport Technical Center in the UK, operational this year. Our Power Unit is developed in Neuburg, while Hinwil focuses on chassis and race operations.
What you need? The mindset of an athlete. If you are someone who doesn’t give up and sees limits as challenges, you can bring "Vorsprung durch Technik" to Formula 1. Join us to make motorsport history.
This position is based at Audi Formula Racing GmbH in Neuburg, Germany, starting January 1, 2026.

* Research, review, and apply advanced numerical methods from academic literature.
* Support concept analysis and system design decisions for the F1 2026 Power Unit regulations.
* Collaborate independently and with engineers from model and software development teams.
Your Profile

* Several years of experience in numerical optimization.
* Extensive experience in optimal control or model predictive control.
* Strong knowledge of linear algebra, calculus, dynamical systems, and differential equations.
* Experience in lap time simulation and vehicle modeling.
* Proficiency in programming languages such as Matlab, Python, or C++.
* Experience with modern software development workflows and version control systems like Git or SVN is a plus.
* Strong analytical, systemic, and independent working skills, with the ability to work well in a team.
* Enjoy working in an international environment.
