MK College Group have an exciting new opportunity for a Carpentry tutor, to join the team based at HMP Fosse Way, Leicester. The role will involve delivery of City & Guilds Carpentry qualifications at level 1 and 2. As a successful Carpentry Tutor, you will truly inspire them and provide learners with a positive learning experience. You will be connecting with learners in a professional manner, supporting them with their learning, enabling them to achieve success through not only qualifications, but developing the confidence and softer skills that they can apply to employment as well as other areas of education. This role may involve outreach work outside of the main classroom setting. We are seeking an individual who can communicate well with students to inspire and motivate them. The average class consists of 18 students, supported by a team of prison mentors and workshop technician. The sessions are approximately 3 hours long. Your lessons will need to be adaptable, innovative, and imaginative. The prison will be operated by Serco with Milton Keynes College as their strategic education provider. Following the prison opening in Spring we are recruiting for talented and creative professionals to join the new Education team based in the prison. We have vacancies for daytime, evenings, and weekends positions though the majority of Education will be delivered Mon-Fri between 8:10-16:40. Due to HMP Fosse Way being brand new, education staff will benefit from working in a new prison with up to date facilities, new resources and equipment.
