The role
We're looking for a Planning & Allocation Specialist to join our team. As a Planning & Allocation Specialist at Opencast, you'll play a central role in matching our consultants with the right skills to projects at the right time. By using data insights, business knowledge, and stakeholder input, you'll make meaningful allocation recommendations and decisions that balance client needs, consultant skills, and internal priorities. You'll also be responsible for maintaining accurate records in Workday, enabling confident forecasting of utilisation, revenue, and demand.
This role is pivotal in ensuring the success of both client and internal projects, supporting effective workforce planning, and driving improvements to our allocation processes.
Ensure that work is carried out in accordance with Opencast's quality, environmental, and information security policies and procedures, as well as applicable customer policies, standards, and procedures while working on client.
Essential experience
To succeed as a Planning and Allocation Specialist, you will need to demonstrate experience of working in a fast paced complex environment with an in-depth knowledge of.
• Ability to analyse data and insights to recommend consultant allocations that align with project needs while supporting team strengths and availability
• Experience building effective, collaborative relationships with stakeholders across delivery, client engagement, and talent teams.
• Proficiency in maintaining systems like Workday with accurate allocation, availability, and project data to support reliable forecasting and planning.
• Comfortable leading regular allocation and resourcing meetings with cross-functional teams to align priorities and resolve challenges.
• Experience managing rotations, balancing team continuity with delivering high-quality client outcomes.
• Willingness to support the onboarding and development of new team members by sharing knowledge and promoting inclusive best practices.
• A continuous improvement mindset, with the ability to identify and contribute to process enhancements that drive efficiency, consistency, and positive behaviours
In addition to Planning and Allocation skills we must ensure that work is carried out in accordance with Opencast's quality, environmental, and information security policies and procedures, as well as applicable customer policies, standards, and procedures while working on client.

Salary
People Team salary range: £34,000 - £44,000
