Job Description:
Sitting at the core of the company group, join a team of 30+ support engineers worldwide, with diverse technical backgrounds. The support team ensures smooth integration and operation of Exail products, working closely with customers both on-site and remotely. This role offers hands-on experience with offshore product solutions, maritime navigation, motion simulation tables, and USV operations.
The offshore support engineer is Europe-based but supports offshore customers globally, requiring travel to customer sites and vessels. The role involves acting as a technical expert, collaborating with sales to identify customer needs and solutions.
Duties and Responsibilities:
* Represent Exail to customers internally and externally.
* On-vessel/site support, including:
o Performing or supporting positioning operations on vessels, often for 4-week periods.
o Pre-survey, installation, commissioning, training, demos, and technical assistance.
o Preparing, executing, providing feedback, debriefing, reporting, and following up.
o Worldwide travel.
* Remote support, including:
o Supporting remote operations across time zones.
o Documenting, analyzing, and reporting customer claims.
* Internal support, such as:
o Collaborating with all Exail teams on support cases.
o Assisting sales and project teams pre- and post-sale.
o Engaging with product managers for updates.
* Team development, including:
o Participating in ongoing training.
o Improving support procedures and tools.
o Sharing knowledge within the offshore support team.
Location & Travel:
Europe, hybrid offshore/office/remote work, with proximity to Aberdeen, Haarlem, Brest, La Ciotat, or Saint-Germain advantageous. Travel approximately 40% of the time, up to several weeks per year.
Candidate Profile:
* 5+ years in offshore industry technical roles, survey engineering, or related fields.
* Bachelor’s degree in engineering/science or equivalent offshore experience.
* Experience with high-tech products or military background is a plus.
* Understanding of offshore environments and operations.
* Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills in English; additional languages beneficial.
* Customer-oriented, self-motivated, adaptable, and culturally aware.
* Knowledge of inertial navigation, underwater acoustics, survey, or gyrocompasses advantageous.
* Proficient in MS Office.
Physical Requirements:
* Comfort working on boats at sea worldwide.
* Ability to obtain offshore medical clearance and trainings.
