Job Description
To assist the Manager in the smooth, efficient, economic daily operation of the hatchery, ensuring at all times cost effective utilisation of labour and resources.
To maintain and improve standards of hatcheries, chick quality, hygiene, chick welfare and overall hatcheries performance.
1. To gain a full understanding of poultry in MP.
2. Contribute to that department/ add value by developing requisite skills in this area in line with MP competency framework.
3. Organising daily work routines, working with and controlling hatchery assistants such that targets and objectives are achieved.
4. Maintain and monitor the hygiene programme, ensuring the tidiness and cleanliness of the hatcheries are kept to required standards.
5. Develop and maintain a sound working knowledge of all hatchery equipment.
6. To ensure health and safety regulations are strictly adhered to within your areas of responsibility, maintaining a safe working environment for all people at all times.
7. To ensure staff within your area of responsibility is trained so that they can perform their duties effectively and efficiently at all times.
8. To ensure within your area of responsibility all aspects of animal welfare are understood and upheld fully, particularly when handling chicks.
