The Role:

As an Category Manager in Procurement and Supply Chain, your primary responsibility is to leverage our customer spend in the Resourcing category, ensuring optimal commercial advantage. This role involves providing expert management and advisory services to benefit our customers' organizations in achieving their business objectives. You will work in a dynamic, hands-on capacity, collaborating with customers, suppliers, and internal teams to drive efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and strategic value.

Reporting directly to the Account Director. In this capacity, you will collaborate closely with the Account Director to align strategies, share insights, and contribute to the overall success of the organization.

This role is home-based, emphasizing flexibility and autonomy. However, periodic travel across the UK is expected to facilitate in-person engagements with customers and suppliers.

Role Responsibilities:

1. Contract Labour and Permanent Recruitment category strategy formulation, presentation and implementation on behalf of DXC
2. Driving forward DXC Services and provide support to the team and sales with other customers.
3. Stakeholder management - leading effective and efficient engagements with key sponsors and stakeholders to ensure our performance meets their expectations or agreed standards including KPI’s & SLA’s.
4. Expert user of all Microsoft packages to support current customers and DXC globally as well as supporting business development opportunities.
5. Provide consultancy for customers through proven expertise.
6. Develop sourcing plans and milestones to feed into the category plan.
7. Ensuring selected suppliers meet the performance objectives set through effective Supplier Relationship Management
8. Supplier negotiation – drafting negotiation strategies and procurement plans,, lead negotiations and manage deployment of agreement into the customers
9. Interface with finance, operations and customer service teams in pursuit of savings and revenue targets
10. Day to day category management
11. Supplier Relationship Management and contract management
12. Forecasting and reporting category savings performance
13. Manage the Perm & Temp agency PSL’s and work collaboratively with the customer’s recruitment and HR teams to ensure a professional service is delivered.
14. Manage the temporary labour Managed Service Provider to collaboratively drive forward improvements.
15. Ensure understanding of the customers recruitment processes to be able to advise on best practice/improvements

Skills and Experience:

The role requires an individual who is comfortable and credible in dealing with individuals at all levels across the client operation including executive board directors.

Essential:

16. In depth knowledge of the Resourcing category
17. Experience of leading and implementing a broad range of category projects, in managing supplier contracts, and ensuring service performance and reporting within a medium to large multi-site organisation
18. Successful track record of leading complex negotiations
19. Ability to demonstrate experience in category knowledge and credibility with subject / market expert suppliers and customers.
20. Range of demonstrable negotiation styles that reflect our category portfolio.
21. High level of analytical and numerical skills (excel & power BI)
22. Experience and full understanding of Financial systems and functionalities
23. Proven track record of delivery in a fast-paced procurement function
24. Knowledge of the supply market
25. Good communicator
26. Expertise Negotiator
27. Excellent customer facing skills
28. Results focused

Desirable:

29. Educated to degree level or equivalent
30. Knowledge of the Aerospace and Defence sector
31. Good understanding of IR35
32. Experience managing technology transformation within recruitment
