A vacancy has arisen within our team at Drax Power Station for a Operations Leading Hand to support our site Operations team. The role exists so that we have a Leading Hand to manage the day to day setting to work and task allocation within operations shift teams on the Drax O&M contract.
Hargreaves Industrial Services provide a varied Operations and Maintenance service to our client at Drax Power Station. We handle, maintain and reclaim materials including FBA, Coal and Mitigant Slurry whilst managing material stocks and transportation using a wide range of Mobile Plant.
The role briefly encompasses the following:
1. Assist the Operations Supervisor in all operational activities.
2. Role includes Deputising for the shift supervisor due to holidays, absence & training courses.
3. Driving team performance and productivity within the plant areas that fall within the contractual work scope.
4. Organise and assist in the management of the operations team activities on a structured basis, ensuring maximum equipment availability.
5. Carry out Plant/Mobile Plant isolations in accordance with site procedures.
6. Ensure company procedures are properly followed to maximise coverage of your area and that work is finished on time and all relevant paperwork is provided after every shift and signed off.
7. Encourage Hazard Alert / Near Hit reporting through the HISAT system.
8. Ensure all incidents are reported and investigated through HISAT.
9. Provide additional support in the event of equipment failure, ensuring that equipment is returned to operational duties effective and efficiently.
10. Demonstrate strong leadership, motivate teams and individuals at all levels.
11. Assist in the operation of a plant and equipment spares facility to ensure sufficient stock levels are maintained.
12. Ensure all health and safety procedures are followed and adhered to.
13. Brief and inform your team members, communicate Toolbox Talks.
14. Ensure all PPE is worn always and proactively monitor.
15. Ensure all H&S measures are in place and completed by all your team
16. Monitor and identify additional individual training requirements as required.
17. Any other reasonable task requested by the Management Team.
18. Ensure time sheets are completed by all your respective team.
19. Responsible for any sub-contractors/agency staff working under Hargreaves in your respective area.
20. Attend meetings as required and feedback any relevant information to your team.
21. Plan and set out work for all for your team and sign off accordingly.
