As a CNC Miller / CNC Machinist you will set and operate 3-axis CNC milling machines, prove out programmes on new components, and ensure documentation and routing details remain accurate. DUTIES Your duties as the CNC Miller / CNC Machinist include: Set And Operate CNC Milling Machines: Set and run 3-axis CNC mills to produce high-tolerance components Prove Out New Programmes: Trial new programmes on first-offs and feed required changes back to programming for implementation Maintain Programme Documentation: Ensure programme documentation is correct, controlled and kept up to date Support Production Operators: Provide day-to-day technical support to CNC operators to protect quality and delivery Improve Methods and Processes: Identify efficiency opportunities and contribute to improved machining methods and workflows Train And Upskill Operators: Deliver ongoing training to raise skill levels and standardise best practice Verify Routing and Cycle Times: Check work centre, narratives and cycle times, and report discrepancies to planning Diagnose Quality Issues: Use structured root cause tools such as 5 Why and RCCA to resolve non-conformances Drive Continuous Improvement: Actively participate in CI activities including Kaizen and 6S CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS ESSENTIAL Recognised Engineering Apprenticeship: NVQ Level 3 / City & Guilds in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent) CNC Milling Background: Previous experience setting and operating CNC milling machines in a precision environment Programme Prove-Out Capability: Proven experience of proving out new components and capturing programme changes Quality And Accuracy Focus: Experience working to tight tolerances (e.g., /-0.01mm) with a right-first-time mindset Problem-Solving Approach: Ability to carry out effective quality diagnosis using tools such as 5 Why / RCCA Strong Teamwork: Able to support others, communicate clearly and multi-task in a fast-paced shopfloor environment Flexible Attitude: Willingness to adapt hours and support business needs when required DESIRABLE Aerospace Or High-Spec Sector Experience: Background in aerospace, nuclear, medical, automotive (high end) or motorsport machining Regulated Quality Standards: Working knowledge of AS9100 and/or EASA Part 21 (G) requirements Continuous Improvement Mindset: Experience participating in Kaizen / 6S activities HOW TO APPLY To be considered for this job vacancy, please submit your CV to our Recruitment Team who will review your details.
