Location: Lancashire preferable - Travel to locations Middlesborough / Lancashire / Stoke / Bristol and other areas.

About the Role
We are seeking a proactive and experienced EHS Specialist to support our expanding portfolio of Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects across the UK.
You will play a critical role in ensuring health and safety compliance, with particular focus on electrical safety in Low Voltage (LV) and High Voltage (HV) environments. This is an exciting opportunity to directly contribute to the UK’s renewable energy transition by fostering a strong culture of safety and compliance across multiple project sites.
Key Responsibilities
* Ensure full compliance with UK Health & Safety regulations, especially in energy and construction sectors.
* Conduct regular site inspections, audits, and risk assessments on active BESS projects.
* Develop, implement, and maintain BESS-specific health and safety plans.
* Lead and support incident investigations, including root cause analysis and corrective action planning.
* Deliver safety inductions, toolbox talks, and ongoing training to employees and contractors.
* Promote best practices in electrical safety, with emphasis on LV and HV systems.
* Maintain and update safety records including RAMS, audit reports, incident logs, and training records.
* Collaborate with project teams, contractors, and stakeholders to enforce and improve safety performance.
What We’re Looking For
Qualifications & Experience
* NEBOSH Diploma (or equivalent recognised Health & Safety qualification) – Essential
* In-depth knowledge of UK Health and Safety legislation, CDM regulations, and applicable codes of practice
* Background in the energy or construction sectors – experience in renewable energy or BESS projects preferred
* Strong understanding of electrical safety protocols in LV and HV environments – Highly desirable
* Demonstrated experience conducting safety audits, risk assessments, and incident investigations

Travel Requirements
