Beechwood are looking for a qualified /newly qualified Speech and Language Therapist who wishes to develop their skills in autism and Learning Disabilities. The post will also support training in Dysphagia as part of the role. Beechwood is a specialist residential education service providing person centred care and education for young people aged 16-25 with Autism Spectrum Conditions, learning disabilities and complex behavioural presentations

The Speech and Language Therapy Team offer a wide range of therapy sessions as well as providing training to staff on communication systems. Overview of your organisation
You will join an existing multidisciplinary team involving colleagues from clinical psychology, nursing, occupational therapy, speech and language therapy, psychiatry, dietetics, education and residential care. Across the wider Iris Care Group, you will join a clinical services team, working across multiple specialities and disciplines, allowing for a high level of peer support and the sharing of clinical resources. We have an active internal CPD process and have active links with local universities and with local special interest groups across specialisms. The department is active in service evaluation and development, particularly in the areas of recovery focused mental health care, autism adapted evidence based therapies, person centred planning, positive behavioural support and restraint reduction, the measurement of staff cultures, and service user involvement.
