Closing Date 23/01/2026 Job Title: Field Performance Manager Location: Millbrook (Full Driving licence is essential due to site visit requirement) Perm/FTC: Permanent Hours: 37 Salary: Up to £51,000 per annum- depending on skills and experience About the role With a rapidly changing environment and the complexities this brings, working as a Field Performance Manager (FPM) offers a wealth of challenges and opportunities. You’ll take ownership of safe, compliant and cost-efficient operation and maintenance of wastewater assets across a defined geographical area, typically managing around three sites and eight direct reports. Your mission? To drive efficiency, productivity and compliance, ensuring serviceability and optimisation of treatment assets. You’ll lead a skilled team of operators and collaborate with peers, senior management, MEICA specialists, Process Scientists and external partners to deliver outstanding results for our customers and the environment. What you will be responsible for: Lead and inspire a high-performing team, driving compliance, serviceability and continuous improvement. Optimise operations and asset processes to improve consistency, data quality and overall performance. Monitor and manage site performance, taking decisive action and ensuring Health & Safety and environmental standards (ISO14001). Collaborate effectively with internal teams and external contractors, maintaining strong relationships and managing works impacting your sites. Represent Southern Water externally, including regulators and media, while coaching and developing your team for engagement and success. What you’ll bring to the role Strong leadership skills with experience managing remote teams in a safety-critical environment. Proven ability to motivate, engage and develop people while driving operational performance. Knowledge of wastewater processes is desirable; chemistry or process experience from other industries is advantageous. Methodical, resilient and able to manage conflicting priorities under pressure. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with confidence to influence and collaborate across teams.
