We are seeking to recruit a Lead Nurse in Infection Prevention & Control to work across NHS Lothian Services. We are looking for transformational leaders who are passionate about promoting high standards of clinical care and best practice and are motivated to join our highly skilled Infection Prevention and Control Team.

The function of the service is to deliver a comprehensive infection control service throughout NHS Lothian to minimise healthcare-associated infections among patients, staff, visitors, and others. The successful candidate will have responsibility for promoting and developing best practices in infection prevention and control. You will provide line management for Geographical Leads and deputise for the Associate Director. You will oversee NHS Lothian's Infection Prevention and Control services across acute and community health services, including the adult care home sector. Working in partnership with multidisciplinary teams and national agencies such as Scottish Government, Public Health Scotland, ARHAI Scotland, and NHS ASSURE, you will play a key role in shaping strategy, policy, and practice to support patient safety by reducing healthcare-associated infections.

Applications are invited from registered nurses/midwives (current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council) educated to degree level, with a postgraduate diploma in Infection Prevention & Control and progressing toward a Master's degree. You should have significant infection control experience, with evidence demonstrating expertise in the field, along with project management and team leadership experience.
