We are seeking an experienced Electrical Project Engineer to join our clients engineering team based in the North East of England.
The Electrical Project Engineer will be responsible for the end-to-end delivery of Electrical Building Services and Critical Infrastructure / Data Centre projects, covering power, lighting, and connectivity across essential and non-essential systems.
The role blends technical engineering expertise with project management, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, and to specification.
Key Responsibilities:
* Review technical documentation, specifications, and cost estimates.
* Manage projects through installation, testing, commissioning, and handover.
* Survey, design, size, and specify electrical systems.
* Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.
* Ensure compliance with relevant standards, regulations, and client requirements.
* Provide formal electrical sign-off where required.
* Support energy efficiency and net-zero initiatives across the portfolio.
* Maintain high standards of health, safety, and quality.
Skills:
* Proven experience in Electrical Project Engineering within the Building Services sector.
* Experience delivering projects from concept through to completion.
* Knowledge of Critical Infrastructure environments is advantageous, including:
* HV Switchgear.
* Standby Power Generation.
* AC & DC UPS systems.
* Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS).
* Strong technical, organisational, and communication skills.
This is an excellent opportunity for an existing Electrical Project Engineer or an experienced Electrical Supervisor working on site who is looking to progress in their career to the next level.
Qualifications (Desirable):
* HNC/HND or Degree qualification in Electrical Engineering or Building Services or equivalant.
* 18th Edition (BS 7671).
* SMSTS / SSSTS.
* Experience acting as Authorised or Competent Person (advantageous).
