Part-Time Accounts Assistant - Oxford - Join a Leading Motor Retail Group
Our Client, a reputable family-run motor retail group and multiple AM Award "Dealer Group of the Year" winner, is seeking a Part-Time Accounts Assistant to join their dynamic team at their recently renovated franchise-approved dealership in the Swindon region. Flexible 5-day week (25 hours), with flexible rota timing, ideally 9:30am to 2:30pmDuties:
Reconcile and post daily banking transactions
Scan and post purchase ledger invoices into the accounting system
Ensure unallocated payments on purchase ledger are cleared promptly
Post petty cash expenses and perform reconciliations
Reconcile supplier statements and verify purchase invoices, including sublet invoices when necessary
Carry out credit control procedures to ensure timely payments
Post daily bank statements and complete bank reconciliations
Manage monthly BACS runs
Conduct sales and purchase ledger reconciliations
Assist with month-end closing and other financial tasks as requested by the Dealership Accountant
Support ad hoc projects to improve financial systems and processes
Liaise with other departments to enhance interdepartmental communicationRequirements:
Recent or current experience in an accounts or finance role, ideally within the motor trade or a similar industry
Proficient with IT, particularly Excel; experience with SAGE accounting software is advantageous but not essential
Methodical, organised, and detail-oriented approach to work
Team player with excellent communication skills
Ability to work independently and adhere to deadlines
Living within a reasonable commuting distance to Oxford is preferred
