Offer description

Key / National Account Manager

Location: Hybrid (UK based)

Working pattern: 4.5 day week with Friday as a half day from home

The role in a nutshell

I’m working with a client who’s been on a really solid growth journey over the past few years and they’re now looking to bring in a Key or National Account Manager to join the team.

They work with a mix of UK and international retailers, across both their own brand and private label. If you enjoy seeing a product go from idea to shelf and actually having a say in that journey, this is one of those roles where you genuinely can.

It’s not one of those “stay in your lane” environments either. If you’ve got ideas, they’ll want to hear them. If you want to get involved in areas outside your remit, even better.

What you’ll be doing

You’ll be looking after key retail accounts and building those relationships into proper partnerships rather than just transactional conversations.

There’s a strong commercial element, so you’ll be spotting opportunities for growth, leading conversations around pricing and promotions, and working on joint business plans that actually go somewhere.

You’ll also work closely with NPD, marketing and operations, especially on the private label side where things move quickly and creativity is encouraged.

And yes, there will be spreadsheets, but also a lot of real influence on what ends up on shelves.

What they’re looking for

Someone who’s worked in a Key or National Account role before, ideally in FMCG or something similar where things move at a decent pace.

You’ll need to be commercially switched on, comfortable having proper conversations with buyers, and able to juggle a few things at once without everything falling apart.

Just as important is attitude. They want someone who’s curious, proactive and not afraid to speak up with ideas. If you like the sound of getting stuck in rather than just ticking boxes, you’ll fit in well.

Why it’s worth a conversation

The business is growing, but in a sustainable way rather than chaos for the sake of it.

You’ll get exposure to both branded and private label, which not every role offers.

The culture is genuinely collaborative and not just something written on a careers page.

And the 4.5 day week doesn’t hurt. Logging off at lunchtime on a Friday tends to be quite popular for obvious reasons.

Next steps

If it sounds interesting, let’s have a chat. I can talk you through the role in a bit more detail and give you a proper feel for the business.
