Healthcare Support Worker – Annan Hospital
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Healthcare Support Worker to work within Annan Hospital, a 18‑bedded facility providing rehabilitation and palliative care.
This 30‑hour permanent position involves providing direct patient care under the support and supervision of a Registered Nurse. The role requires motivation to care for the elderly, teamwork within a multidisciplinary team, and a focus on quality, individualized person‑centred care.
The role includes weekend and night shift work with a combination of 6‑ and 12‑hour shift patterns, and involves clinic and home visits in remote and rural areas. A current driving licence is essential; alternative transport arrangements may be considered for candidates with a disability preventing a licence. Candidates should describe how they would facilitate travel to clinics and home visits in their application.
This post has adopted the RWW as of 1 April 2026. The Agenda for Change full‑time working week will be reduced to 36 hours from 37, with a pro‑rated increase in hourly rate to maintain pay.
