Overview
Truro and Penwith Academy Trust is a high performing and successful Trust made up of 41 primary and secondary schools in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly. We are looking for an inspiring HR Advisor with a proven track record to join our team. You will provide expert advice and guidance to our schools on a diverse range of HR issues and queries, ensuring compliance with all statutory requirements and Trust policies.
Responsibilities
* Provide expert HR advice and guidance to schools on a range of HR issues and queries.
* Ensure compliance with statutory requirements and Trust policies.
* Work closely with managers, building strong relationships and supporting them in effectively managing employee relations matters (e.g., staff attendance, capability, disciplinary, flexible working, special leave) in line with legislation and policy within a reasonable timeline and to a suitable resolution.
Qualifications and Experience
* Ideally CIPD qualified or have extensive recent experience in a similar role to deliver clear, practical HR advice to senior leaders and managers.
* Ability to work autonomously to manage casework with up-to-date knowledge of employment law and practices. A knowledge of teachers’ terms and conditions of employment would be an advantage.
Working Arrangements
The role is a hybrid working model, spending time in the office, working from home and involves working with an Assistant Director of Education for a cluster of our schools. It will involve travelling to TPAT schools regularly to meet with Headteachers and other school staff.
This is a part-time role working 22.5 hours a week over 52 weeks. Days and hours of work can be discussed during the interview process.
