About the Service

Our Tan Y Bryn Residential Service (winner of the 2022 Stephenson Award for Service of the Year) in Rhyl is a five-bedded therapeutic residential home for children and young people between the ages of 7-17 years.

We provide support for young people who are likely to have experienced early childhood trauma. You would be a part of a dynamic team to support and encourage our young people to reach their full potential. Some young people may experience low self-esteem, anxiety, depression and have poor communication skills which can lead to disruptive behaviours and a positive compassionate attitude is paramount.

About the role

Our Residential Support Worker is an entry level role where you don't need previous experience or qualifications, we’re looking for a positive attitude and the desire to give the best care to children and young people. This is a great opportunity to get your ‘foot in the door’ and allows you to explore the field of Social Care and decide if it’s the right fit for you, whilst gaining practical experience.

You’ll create a safe and supportive environment for children and young people to grow and develop, ensuring wellbeing is prioritised by delivering personalised care, guidance and advocacy. It’s key that they stay safe and healthy and can reach their full potential.

In return we’ll offer you amazing opportunities to progress within our organisation.

We offer an in-depth induction process and training. alongside this, we’ll enrol you in the qualifications which you need to work in the industry, regular supervision with your line manager, team meetings etc. will ensure you feel part of our team.

Once you’ve gained the relevant experience and qualifications you’ll be ready to progress to the next step in your career with us.

How you'll help to create brighter futures

You’ll be engaging in enjoyable activities both within the project and within the community. You’ll be assuming responsibility for the personal care and daily routines of the young individuals, providing support with personal hygiene, communication, administering of medication and ensuring the safeguarding of our young people by accurate recording and reporting.

Let’s talk about you

Don’t worry if you’ve never worked in a similar role before, it’s your personality and personal values that matter. If you’re passionate about creating brighter futures, this could be the perfect role for you.

Ideally you’ll:

* Understand how to engage with young people.
* Have a positive approach and ‘can do’ attitude.
* Ability to work on your own or as part of a team.
* Be ready to complete a level 3 in Health and Social Care within 2 years of commencing employment with us, fully funded by us.
* UK driving license with access to transport, for the purposes of transportation of service users to appointments and school runs.
