Management Accountant£40,000-£45,000 (some flex)PermanentGloucesterFull-timeA long-standing local business is looking for a hands on Management Accountant to join its small finance team. If you enjoy taking ownership of the numbers and working closely with operational staff, this could be a great fit.You will look after the monthly accounts for a few different companies, keeping the ledgers tidy, sorting out journals and making sure everything is ready on time each month. You will also keep the fixed asset records up to date, complete all key reconciliations and help with audits, VAT and other returns.Day to day, you will work alongside two Accounts Assistants and offer cover for the senior finance lead when required.What You Will Be Doing
* Producing monthly management accounts
* Keeping the general ledger accurate and posting routine month end journals
* Managing the fixed asset register and depreciation
* Completing balance sheet, intercompany and sales reconciliations
* Preparing VAT returns and helping with audit work
* Talking through results with department managers and explaining variances
* Supporting cashflow and capital planning
* Overseeing AR and AP work and managing credit card and purchase ledger admin
About you:
* Part-qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA) or equivalent experience.
* Experience producing management accounts and working to month-end deadlines.
* Strong Excel skills and good attention to detail.
* Able to work independently and hit the ground running.* Good communication skills and a hands-on approach.
