Facilities Manager Location: London Gateway, Essex Employment Type: Full-Time | On-site We’re looking for a Facilities Manager to take ownership of our state-of-the-art site at London Gateway, Stanford-le-hope. This is a standalone role, ideal for someone who enjoys autonomy and takes pride in their work Key Responsibilities: Oversee existing service contracts and providers. Develop and manage a robust Planned Preventive Maintenance (PPM) strategy. Maintain and monitor: MHE and conveyor systems (automated & manual) Fire alarms, extinguishers, and burglar alarms HVAC systems Electrical systems (lighting, CCTV, main supply, portables) PAT testing of electrical equipment (training provided) Vending machines and water coolers Water systems (main supply, softeners, heaters, dispensers) Monitor the condition of the building, yard, and car park, arranging repairs as needed. Ensure that work by contractors and staff is completed to a satisfactory standard, following up on any areas for improvement. Coordinate and lead contractor visits related to facilities maintenance, compliance, and repairs. Manage your own budget and make cost-effective decisions aligned with operational needs. Respond to on-site emergencies during usual working hours and manage any immediate issues. Lead on audit preparation and compliance relevant to the facilities department. Act as the H&S Committee Leader and promote a culture of safety and accountability. Log and manage maintenance schedules to ensure timely completion. Serve as the Fire Officer for the site (Fire Marshal training provided). What We’re Looking For: Proven experience in facilities management or a similar role. Excellent organisational and communication skills. Friendly and approachable, with a positive attitude and team spirit. Driver, with own vehicle preferred due to site location.
