Job Purpose
We are looking for a motivated engineering professional with passion to controls hardware and software to join our Controls & Automation Software Department in Krakow Engineering Center. As a Software Quality Engineer, you will be cooperating closely with multiple teams spread across the globe and working on controls systems for our subsea control platforms.
The main function of this role will be defining, implementing, and executing the SW tests according to the acceptance criteria for the specifications of a feature. On this level it is expected the candidate is able to contribute to define the test and quality assurance strategy.
Job Description
1. Help the Tech-Lead and Software Delivery Manager to add acceptance criteria to the project’s direction via User Stories
2. Create actionable acceptance criteria from high-level business requirements and user story concepts
3. Creates the Test Plan and Strategy for a project or product
4. Determine when the implementation does not align with the customer's intent
5. Designs test plans across initiatives across the project/product
6. Identifies and analyzes quality risks for a given feature
7. Configures and upgrades the Quality Management System
8. Contributes to the continuous improvement of the Quality Management System
9. Develops and coordinates induction training to raise awareness on quality processes among employees of the site
10. Communicates programs, standards and procedures to the quality team and other plant employees
11. Participates in the elaboration of Group tools to measure performance
12. Recommends new quality policies or procedures to ensure high quality products, processes, or services
13. Carries out extensive statistical analysis and work as per the result derived from the analysis
14. Reports regularly regarding the system performance and new developments
15. Provide technical support during software installation, configuration, integration, and tests
16. Provides the project-level quality snapshot to strategy leaders
17. Travel to sites in Norway to align, train, and support the QA effort
You are meant for this job if:
18. Bachelor's degree preferably with a specialization in Computer Science, Engineering, Quality or related field with minimum 5 years of experience in the field
19. Experience with Quality Assurance of software within hardware systems
20. Experience with software and system development
21. Experience in the use of tools for testing and verification of complex functionality
22. Experience with specification, detailed design, qualification, testing and maintenance of software applications
23. Experience in solving complex product and system issues
24. Experience in establishing Product definition, including testing based on Customer requirements, applicable codes and standards, including company requirements
25. Experience with one or more scripting languages (e.g. Python)
26. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
27. Advanced organizational and problem-solving skills
28. Have excellent knowledge and experience of different Agile methodologies
29. Have worked with source control like Git and CI/CD tooling
30. Release project documentation according to International Standards and Customer requirements.
31. Detailed understanding of the system(s) involved with the developed software.
32. Skilled with automated testing tools and QA strategy.
33. Experience using Jira for Agile project management
34. Basic knowledge of Network (Ethernet, TCP/IP)
35. Very good oral and written communication skills in English (B2/C1)
