The Role
The successful candidate will have at least two years’ legal cashiering experience and a sound knowledge of the Solicitors Accounts Rules. Working closely with the Team Leader, you will take on a varied workload, including:
1. Monitoring client and office bank accounts and allocating receipts
2. Processing online payments (Faster Payments, CHAPS, SWIFT) in line with approval procedures
3. Managing transactions across numerous individual client bank accounts
4. Liaising with banks to resolve payment issues
5. Handling deposits and withdrawals from external deposit accounts
6. Managing payroll, tax, pensions, and HMRC payments for client-employed staff
7. Processing HMLR statements and applying the correct VAT
8. Reconciling credit card, debit card, and cheque control accounts
9. Banking cheques and reconciling against ledgers
10. Reviewing property completion statements and client ledgers
11. Checking and processing bills and expenses
12. Monitoring residual balances and supplier payments
Skills & Experience
13. Minimum 2 years’ legal cashiering experience
14. Numerate, accurate, and detail-oriented
15. Strong organisational and communication skills
16. Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word
