Job Description
We are looking for Electrical Authorised / Appointed Person Low Voltage (APLV) to join our team in Oxford. You will be responsible for ensuring electrical safety and compliance across all site activities, implementing safe systems of work, managing electrical permits, supervising isolation and energisation, and ensuring adherence to statutory and company standards.
Responsibilities
* Acting as the designated Electrical Authorised Person for the site.
* Issuing and managing electrical permits to work.
* Ensuring compliance with BS 7671 Wiring Regulations and company safety procedures.
* Supervising electrical isolation, testing, and energisation activities.
* Supervising lock‑off tag‑off procedures (LOTO).
* Conducting inspections and audits of electrical installations.
* Maintaining accurate records of electrical work and permits.
* Providing technical guidance and training to team members.
* Liaising with project managers, site managers and subcontractors to ensure safe working practices.
Qualifications
* Recognised electrical qualification (e.g., NVQ Level 3 or equivalent).
* City & Guilds 2391 (Inspection & Testing).
* Authorised Person Electrical Low Voltage training.
* Strong knowledge of electrical safety regulations and BS 7671.
* Previous experience as an Electrical Authorised/Appointed Person or similar role.
Desirable Skills
* SSSTS/SMSTS certification.
* Experience in low/high‑voltage systems or complex M&E projects.
* Familiarity with permit‑to‑work systems.
* Good communication and leadership skills.
