West Yorkshire Police is seeking to recruit Speed Camera Enforcement Operators for its Central Prosecution & Casualty Prevention Unit based in Bradford. These are full-time, permanent roles, working 37 hours per week on a rotational shift basis.
The salary is Scale 4, ranging from £24,921.00 to £27,351.00, plus a 14% enhancement where applicable.
As a Speed Camera Enforcement Operator, you will work independently in designated vehicles to enforce speed limits using mobile speed recording equipment within the West Yorkshire Police area. Candidates should have experience in a public-facing role, familiarity with computer applications such as MS Office and Windows, a full UK manual driving license (automatic licenses are not applicable), and emotional resilience to handle challenging situations.
The role requires completing manual lifting and handling training, and involves working 37 hours per week on a rotational shift pattern that includes weekends (with a 14% enhancement), but no bank holidays. The shift pattern is typically 0600-1600 or 1400-2200, on a 6 on/3 off cycle.
Training will be provided on operating speed detection devices, camera systems, and related procedures. Applicants should have a basic understanding of speed legislation and the Highway Code.
Benefits include:
* Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS)
* Employee Assistance Service (EAS) for wellbeing support
* Cycle to work scheme
* Blue Light discount scheme
