Description

Do you enjoy working with people and keeping a busy office running smoothly? Scrutton Bland, part of the Sumer Group, is looking for an Office Administrator to join our Admin team in Ipswich. This is a varied, hands‑on role at the heart of our office, where no two days are the same. If you’re organised and thrive in a fast‑paced environment, we’d love to hear from you.


Key Responsibilities

* Manage the day-to-day running of the reception area, acting as the first point of contact for clients, visitors, and team members
* Conduct daily office checks and oversee stock levels of office supplies
* Coordinate with external suppliers (e.g. cleaning, maintenance, security) and support on-site maintenance visits
* Handle client‑facing activities, including answering and directing calls, managing meeting room bookings, and welcoming visitors
* Carry out general administrative duties such as managing incoming and outgoing post, scanning, and filing
* Support IT with equipment setup and handovers for staff
* Provide administrative support to the Operations and Project Manager as needed
* Assist with company events where required
* Deliver onboarding support for our new joiners to the business
* Provide office cover at other locations when required (e.g. holiday or sickness cover)


Skills, Knowledge & Expertise

* Have a passion for customer care and take pride in making the difference
* Posses strong Microsoft Office skills
* Be an excellent communicator in varied methods including telephone calls and emails
* Proven organisational skills
* Have the ability to prioritise when busy whilst maintaining a professional and calm demeaner
* Be able to grasp new IT systems

Due to the nature of the role, you will require a full driving licence and have access to your own vehicle and be willing to travel to all our offices as and when required.
