Description Media Manager. Salary: £43,000 per annum. Location: Homebased. Contract: Permanent – 35 hours per week. A bit about the role In this permanent role as Media Manager, you will manage, plan, and deliver news and PR strategies, campaigns, and activities across the UK to highlight the work of Action for Children and issues relating to vulnerable children, young people, and families. The Media Manager is part of a creative and dynamic media team with a news and policy focus to much of our work. How you'll help to create brighter futures Taking responsibility for developing and delivering effective and compelling media relations strategies, campaigns, and activities. Demonstrating excellent news judgement and developing strong relationships with journalists, producers, news, and PR outlets to maximise media coverage. Setting up and delivering all aspects of key proactive media launches and reactive opportunities in the news. Taking responsibility for editing and raising standards of media materials for national, trade, news, and consumer media outlets. Line managing two team members. Working collaboratively with the Head of Media to help create a positive, creative, dynamic, and supportive working environment across the wider team. Deputising for the Head of Media when required. Working collaboratively and building positive relationships with teams across Income and Engagement including consumer PR, policy and influencing, digital, fundraising and teams in children’s services. Let's talk about you as Media Manager You must have a proven track record of working in a busy press office/newsroom or PR agency. Excellent line management skills to line manage two members of the team and to support the Head of Media to meet wider team objectives. Experience of designing compelling, creative, and effective media and PR strategies. Experience of managing projects from planning to delivery stages, including evaluation. Experience of collaborative working and maintaining good working relationships with a variety of stakeholders. Proven ability of working with the UK media across a range of outlets. Solid crisis communication and reputational management experience. Experience of briefing and preparing colleagues and service users to undertake media interviews.
