Salary: £45,000
Location: Primarily Field-Based | Leeds Office 1x week
PURPOSE OF ROLE
Lawes is excited to be working alongside an expanding Lloyds Broker who is looking for a motivated and ambitious Business Development Manager. If you excel at building client relationships and delivering tailored solutions, this is your chance to make a significant impact.
RESPONSIBILITIES
* Represent the company, acting as an ambassador for the brand and its values
* Convert warm, pre-qualified leads into long-term partnerships
* Conduct detailed consultations with clients to assess their specific insurance needs
* Collaborate with expert brokers to source competitive quotes and create bespoke insurance proposals
* Present and negotiate insurance solutions with professionalism to secure agreements
* Foster and maintain strong client relationships to ensure ongoing satisfaction and loyalty
* Identify new business opportunities to drive the success of the growing insurance division
DAY-TO-DAY
* A majority of your time will be spent meeting clients face-to-face, to nurture business relationships across the North region from Birmingham and above
* Balance client interactions with administrative work from home and occasional visits to the Leeds office (1 day a week or fortnight)
* Manage high-value commercial insurance clients with precision, ensuring exceptional service delivery
* Apply your expertise in general commercial insurance to offer tailored solutions
* Maintain a proactive and organised approach to client interactions and follow-ups
EXPERIENCE
* 2-3 years of experience as an Account Handler in the commercial insurance sector
* Proven experience in a client-facing role, demonstrating the ability to transition into a field-based sales position
* Knowledge of commercial insurance products such as Construction, D&O, Liability, PI, Political Risk, Motor Fleet, and Property
SKILLS
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills to establish trust and rapport with clients
* Target - driven with a tenacious and results-oriented approach to achieving ambitious goals
* Exceptional organisational and time - management skills to handle a dynamic schedule
* Comprehensive understanding of commercial insurance products, with the ability to craft tailored client solutions
* Self-motivated and independent yet capable of collaborating effectively within a team
* Must be able to drive with own car
