This is a mobile, site‑based role responsible for installing, commissioning, maintaining and supporting critical power assets - including loadbanks, transformers, generators, battery energy storage units (BESS) and UPS units at customer locations.
You’re not expected to be an expert in everything on day one; extensive training will be provided on products you’re unfamiliar with.
Please note - Regular staying away from home is required to meet project schedules.

* £45,000 – £55,000 per annum (experience‑dependent)

Responsibilities
Install, commission and maintain critical power equipment on customer sites, including generators, loadbanks (AC/DC, resistive/reactive), BESS, UPS systems, transformers and power distribution equipment.
* Perform planned preventative maintenance (PPM), diagnostics, repairs and modifications; complete load/function tests and final sign‑off to ensure 100% operational readiness, with accurate job cards, service reports and test certificates.
* Conduct site surveys and prepare/adhere to RAMS; ensure compliance with all Health, Safety and Environmental procedures and use of appropriate PPE.
* Coordinate with project managers, depot and yard teams to prepare, kit and mobilise equipment for specific projects; verify that all components are present and correct.
* Fault‑find and troubleshoot equipment issues on site, identifying root causes and implementing effective repairs.
* Provide high‑quality technical support and customer service on site; assist with parts sourcing and manage van‑stock/spares as required.
* Participate in rota‑based out‑of‑hours support and respond to time‑critical call‑outs when required.
Requirements (what you’ll bring)
* Proven field service/installation/maintenance experience in power generation, critical power or a related electrical field (3+ years preferred).
* Strong electrical background with the ability to read schematics and fault‑find on complex three‑phase systems.
* Hands‑on experience with at least some of: generators, loadbanks, transformers, UPS systems, PDUs and associated cabling/connectors.
* Competent with electrical test equipment (e.g., multimeters, clamp meters, insulation testers) and confident producing service documentation.
* Proactive problem‑solver with excellent attention to detail and strong ownership of quality and safety.
* Full, valid driver’s licence and comfortable with extensive travel and regular overnight stays.
Desirable qualifications & skills
* Formal electrical qualification (e.g., City & Guilds / NVQ Level 3 or equivalent).
* 18th Edition and Testing & Inspection (e.g., 2391) qualification.
* Working knowledge of site‑based H&S protocols and permit‑to‑work systems.
* FLT (Forklift Truck) licence; IPAF/PASMA or ECS/CSCS cards beneficial.
