The Whalley Wine Bar is looking for a highly-experienced, hands-on and professional Bar Manager to lead a small team in delivering an exceptional product and standard of service.
A destination, premium wine bar, we offer superb hospitality in a beautifully designed modern bar in the heart of the Ribble Valley. Serving a rotating selection of 30+ wines by the glass from a 600 bottle wine list alongside beers, spirits and a small but high quality food menu focussed around cheese, charcuterie and small plates.
We are looking for an experienced hospitality professional to join the business and lead our bar team to create a brilliant work atmosphere while striving to become the best bar in Lancashire. A real understanding of the procedures and processes needed for top class hospitality is key along with the ability to transfer this knowledge to your team. We want a strong motivator who is able to teach, lead and have fun with a team to get the most out of them at all times. Our ideal manager will be full of personality and have a real passion for people and service as well as wine, drinks and food
You will have very strong organisational skills and thrive on creating and implementing hospitality schedules and processes within the business to make it more organised, efficient and seamless. Previous experience in a highly organised venue is key.
Required experience for this role:
* A minimum of 3 years hospitality experience, ideally with a minimum of 1 year at management level and ideally from a restaurant background.
* Strong leadership and people management skills with experience of managing a part time team including recruitment, initial and ongoing training, managing staff rotas, holiday and sickness.
* Knowledge and experience of key business financials, costs, margins and ensuring profit is achieved.
* Personable and friendly - you must have a warm and friendly personality, be fun, passionate, charismatic, enthusiastic, people-focused and adaptable to all personalities.
* A great communicator - excellent at developing relationships with the kitchen team, front of house team, senior management and, above all else, your customers.
* A passion for hospitality in its truest sense with a desire to exceed guest expectations and continually explore and implement ways to improve our offering.
* You must have full eligibility to work in the UK and be based within a 30 minute commute to be considered for this position.
Should you be successful, you will benefit from:
* Full time 40-48 hours per week depending on circumstance. All required overtime paid.
* Salary package of approx. £46-52k per annum - £36,000 basic on 45 hour contract, £10-12k pa Tips and gratuities. Bonus scheme worth £4,000 pa based on performance.
