Role Overview
Due to demand we are looking for experienced Technicians to join our Optronics and Missile Electronics (OME) business unit in Glasgow. With experience in wiring and building electrical assemblies you will perform manufacturing tasks in accordance with engineering drawings to the required quality. The role is based out of our Glasgow manufacturing site and you will work a 4 day week Monday to Thursday with a flexible start time between 6:00 am and 7:30 am. 30 minutes unpaid lunch is provided. Free on‑site parking and an on‑site canteen are available.
Responsibilities
* Ensure all incidents are logged correctly and escalated to H&S leaders as appropriate.
* Escalate Health and Safety issues to the Work Cell Manager.
* Perform complex manufacturing operations in accordance with the associated documentation provided to the quality standards expected in a timely and professional manner.
* Adhere to the defined Company processes when carrying out all tasks.
* Perform self‑assessment and approval of products.
* Input and support any continuous improvement actions being worked on within Industry.
* Detect any fault or non‑compliance and, if necessary, raise the alert. Contribute to diagnostics and the root analysis where possible.
* Manage and record build configuration of product.
* Use the company tools (ERP, Palma, etc.) when carrying out product assembly tasks.
Qualifications
* Experience in wiring.
* Ability to perform complex electrical operations involving wiring and component soldering to IPC standards.
* Experience building electrical assemblies.
* The ability to interpret drawings and wiring diagrams.
* Eligible to obtain full SC clearance.
Security Clearance
Eligible to obtain full SC clearance. In line with Thales' Baseline Security requirements candidates will be asked to provide evidence of identity, eligibility to work in the UK and employment and/or education history for up to three years. Some vacancies may require full Security Clearance which can require further evidence to be provided.
