* Contract: Fixed term - 36 months (jointly funded with South Yorkshire Integrated Care Board, currently secured for 12 months)
* Location: Sheffield (Hybrid role with a minimum of 3 days per week in the office)
* Hours: 37 hours
* Salary: £65,966 - £71,091
The South Yorkshire Mayoral Combined Authority (SYMCA) brings together the local authorities of Barnsley, Doncaster, Rotherham, and Sheffield to serve the communities and businesses of South Yorkshire. We focus on transport, housing, business growth, and skills, aiming to deliver recovery and renewal across the region.
Please note that SYMCA follows a structured salary grading system, and the offered salary will be at the starting point within the grade. There are opportunities for salary growth based on skills and experience. The terms and conditions of employment are under review, and any changes will be communicated accordingly.

Key Responsibilities
* Lead on developing and implementing strategies that integrate work and health initiatives across South Yorkshire.
* Collaborate with the Director to advocate for further devolution of work and health funding and powers.
* Oversee the implementation of Pathways to Work and related programmes, ensuring their vision is realized across the region.
* Work with local authorities, healthcare providers, employers, and community groups to create an integrated support system.
* Lead and develop a high-performing team, focusing on performance, efficiency, and value for money.
* Promote a culture of continuous improvement aligned with the Mayor’s priorities and the corporate plan.
Skills, Knowledge, and Expertise
* Significant senior experience related to health or employment support, including programme development and performance management.
* Proven ability to manage complex programmes and negotiate contracts in challenging environments.
* Experience in budget management and financial reporting, with diverse funding sources.
* Strong knowledge of employment and careers funding, especially in the context of devolution.
* Excellent leadership, motivation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
* Strong communication, negotiation, and strategic advisory capabilities.
