POSITION TITLE: Patient Access Specialist ISTATUS: Non- ExemptREPORTS TO: Patient Access SupervisorDIRECT REPORTS: N/AACCOUNTABILITY OBJECTIVE: Responsible for creating a positive, welcoming, and warm environment for our patients. Customer service focused, enjoys being part of a collaborative team, and working in a fast- paced environment.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: • Provide initial customer service experience to all patients and visitors, by greeting them in a warm and welcoming manner • Create patient charts by entering demographics and insurance information. • Facilitate appointment scheduling. • Facilitate patient check ins and check outs. • Handle patient payments. • Answers and routes phone calls to other departments. • Assist referral coordinators including uploading referral documents as needed. • Maintain confidentiality of medical records. • Other job duties as assigned.QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS: • High school diploma or GED required • Experience in a customer service related role preferred • 1 – 2 years hospital admissions / physician office experience preferred • Knowledge of medical terminology preferredADDITIONAL EXPERIENCE, NOT REQUIRED: • Customer Service • Multi- Tasking • Flexibility • Telephone Skills • Time Management • Organization • Attention to Detail • Scheduling • Word Processing • ProfessionalismIf you have an appointment scheduled at our clinic or Infusion Center in Bedford on or after 10/14/2025, we will see you at the new location.
