Development opportunity to become a Band 6 SCPHN Nurse.
An exciting opportunity has arisen within Argyll and Bute HSCP School Health service to recruit an experienced SCPHN School Nurse who is committed to leading service change and embedding best practice. As a School Nurse, you will need to demonstrate clinical effectiveness, sound decision-making, and the ability to manage change.
You should have knowledge and experience of systems such as GIRFEC, Child Protection, and Care Experienced processes. You will be an effective communicator with children, parents, families, colleagues, and multi-agency partners including Education, Social Work, and the third sector.
You will be expected to travel efficiently between various locations within the Mid Argyll, Kintyre, and Islay areas to meet operational needs. Under the supervision of the Child Health Manager, your responsibilities will include leadership, team development, caseload management, and staff line management.
You will support the CHM in ensuring quality assurance, standards compliance, professional regulation, responding to complaints, staff governance, clinical supervision, and legislative frameworks aligned with national and board policies.
As a School Nurse, you should demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communication skills, adaptability, and flexibility. You will provide professional leadership across the School Health teams.
It is essential to keep up to date with SCPHN school nursing practice issues and developments, and to adapt clinical practices as needed. This is an exciting time as we maximize the contribution of School Nursing and work towards implementing the specialist pathway to improve outcomes for children and young people (5-19 years).
You will join an established team with a diverse skill set and contribute to the ongoing development of School Nursing in Argyll and Bute.
