Overview
We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic ST3+ Haematology Doctor to join our dynamic and forward‑thinking Haematology Department for a fixed term 12‑month contract. This is an excellent opportunity for a doctor with prior Core Medical Training (or equivalent) who is looking to further develop their skills within a busy but supportive NHS environment.
Responsibilities
* Provide clinical care in malignant and non‑malignant haematology, laboratory haematology, and inpatient and outpatient services.
* Work alongside 5 Haematology Consultants, 2 Specialist Registrars and 3 FY1 doctors in a busy but friendly department.
* Cover the emergency assessment bay, wards and chemotherapy suites.
* Assist with laboratory haematology and bone marrow biopsies.
* Participate in clinical teaching and educational activities equivalent to those afforded to doctors in recognised training schemes.
Qualifications
* Eligible to work in the UK and hold full GMC registration and a licence to practise.
* MRCP and experience in cancer treatment; knowledge of management of haematology and oncological emergencies.
* Previous experience in core medical training or equivalent is desirable.
Additional Information
The post is not recognised for training but will provide excellent clinical and laboratory haematology experience with some opportunities for education and training. The post would be suitable for a doctor wanting a broad experience in haematology prior to specialist training.
