Section Maintenance Engineer - Heavy Engineering
We are looking for a Section Maintenance Engineer to support the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of production plant within a heavy industrial steelmaking environment. You will be responsible for maintaining key assets, minimising downtime, and driving continuous improvement in a fast-paced, safety-critical operation.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver planned preventative maintenance and respond effectively to breakdowns.
* Fault-find and repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems.
* Take ownership of assigned plant and equipment, including cranes and heavy machinery.
* Lead improvement activities to enhance reliability, safety, and performance.
* Supervise contractors and ensure compliance with site safety standards.
* Record work and manage spares using a CMMS (e.g. SAP).
* Ensure all work complies with LOLER, PUWER, and site safety procedures.
Requirements
* NVQ/ C&G/HNC/HND or equivalent in Electrical Engineering.
* Experience in steel, heavy engineering or other other manufacturing such as Aerospace, Nuclear, Defence, Oil & Gas, Automotive, Glass etc (other manufacturing industries may be considered)
* Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
* Safety-focused approach with good communication skills.
* 18th Edition would be advantageous
