Protocol Education are seeking a passionate SEN Teacher to join a specialist SEND school in the Sunderland area supporting pupils with complex learning needs. Pupils attending the school have a range of additional needs including SLD, PMLD, autism and communication difficulties. The school provides a well-resourced environment with sensory learning spaces, specialist equipment and a highly experienced support team. As part of the teaching team, you will deliver a creative and personalised curriculum that supports pupils in developing academic, social and life skills. Key responsibilities include: • Planning and delivering adapted lessons suited to a range of learning needs • Working collaboratively with Teaching Assistants and therapy staff • Supporting pupils with sensory-based learning activities • Encouraging independence and confidence within the classroom • Monitoring and reviewing progress in line with EHCP outcomes The school is looking for a dedicated teacher who is committed to supporting pupils with complex needs. Applicants must hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS). Candidates should ideally have a DBS on the Update Service, or be willing to apply for a new DBS through Protocol Education if required.
